FIELD SERVICES

COATINGS AND LININGS

FULL SUITE OF COATING AND LINING APPLICATIONS

UTLX offers coating and lining solutions to protect railcars and shipped commodities. Application of interior coatings and linings allow for the shipment of a wide range of products, including:

RAILCAR CLEANING

SAFE AND EFFICIENT CLEANING

UTLX repair shops can clean most types of railcars that transport a variety of commodities including petrochemicals, oils, acids, asphalt, plastics and food-grade products. UTLX has established optimized cleaning solutions that safely remove and dispose of residual commodity with a minimum impact on the environment. To ensure that cars are cleaned safely using the best available practices, UTLX uses advanced technology such as vapor combustion, robotic blast systems and closed-loop emulsification.

TANK CAR MODIFICATION

UTLX can assist in developing a transition plan for DOT-111 and CPC-1232 tank car fleets transporting flammable liquids to meet HM-251 specifications and deadlines. Such modified DOT-117R tank cars feature advanced safety components, including the following:

  • Enhanced pressure relief valve
  • 11-gauge steel jacket
  • Enhanced top fittings protection
  • Improved bottom outlet valve
